Dental care in the United States is delivered mostly by private practices: a general or family dentist who handles exams, cleanings, fillings and crowns, and refers out anything that needs a specialist. Group practices and dental clinics put several dentists, hygienists and sometimes specialists under one roof, often with evening and Saturday hours. Most offices ask new patients for a comprehensive exam with X-rays before routine cleanings, which the American Dental Association recommends every six months. Prices are set by each practice, and most accept dental insurance (PPO plans more widely than HMO ones), CareCredit-style financing or an in-house membership plan for people without coverage. Emergency dental services take same-day patients for toothaches, broken teeth and abscesses, usually at a premium.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 9 am–5 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach UIC Faculty Dental Practice at (312) 516-4330; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Its website is dentistry.uic.edu, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Its Google rating stands at 2.4 out of 5 from 98 reviews, which is below average for the category; consider the recent reviews carefully before visiting.

Chicago is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. Getting around Chicago is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Illinois's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

My daughter received Amazing service under Jessica Kowalczyk. After Jessica was no longer on her service, that’s when things went down hill. We tried to schedule numerous times over the phone and we could not get through. Then we attempted to schedule by Via text and we received several delayed responses. I eventually ended up calling someone regarding trying to set up an appointment once again and they hung up. We are Very dissatisfied with our experience.

I wanted to have a cleaning done so I called to see if they accept new patients and the woman on the phone said yes. After she asked if I had anything specific I wanted to look at so I mentioned I noticed recession since I started my braces treatment someplace else and she said they won’t touch my teeth. So I said so I can’t receive exams or anything? So she repeated a shortened version of what she said before and said “like I just explained mam”. When I understood the first time, now I was just interested in cleanings but I read they have to first examine your teeth so I said “okay so I wouldn’t be able to get a cleaning? I don’t have dental insurance so I was looking to get that done.” She explained the whole process and said the price, which wasn’t the issue. It just seemed like she was quick to jump off of the phone and as a new patient you should have a little more patience also her delivery was snarky. I thanked her for her time & said I’d look somewhere else and she hung up in the middle of her sentence.. Honestly can’t speak on behalf of the dental students but but I felt the “new patient process” doesn’t seem welcoming.

This would be a 5 star but there was a staff member in the inclusive care unit that lied about many things, I and getting a root canal and a student dentist was like “it should only take 30 minutes for the whole root canal” and she said that I wouldn’t be able to be put under, when the dental surgeon came in he was so kind and said I am able to be put under, the students especially the one I was talking about should learn more thoroughly how long a procedure takes and what options can be done because although she was professional she didn’t follow up with the surgeon

My experience at the UIC Dental Clinic has been positive when it comes to the dental care I have received. However, every time I have to check in or check out at the front desk, my interactions with "Ferris" or "Fearghuis" have been very disappointing. His attitude toward patients comes across as unfriendly, indifferent, and lacking the basic customer service skills that are expected in a public-facing position. On multiple occasions, he has made me feel as though my presence is an inconvenience, both when I arrive and when I leave the clinic. Individuals who work in customer-facing roles represent the image of an institution and have the responsibility to treat patients with respect, courtesy, and professionalism. I believe this position should be held by someone who demonstrates a more positive attitude, a willingness to help, and a genuine interest in providing a good experience for those who visit the clinic. I hope this feedback is taken as an opportunity to improve customer service and enhance the overall patient experience.

Such a wonderful experience at this dental clinic. The team was attentive, caring, and highly professional. The dentist worked gently and explained each step, which really eased my anxiety. The office is clean and well-maintained. I’m very pleased with the service and will return for future care.
